The truth is rarely pure and never simple

achemso and mcitethebibliography

When using the achemso LaTeX package for creating a document, pdflatex may give you the following errors:

./SI.bbl:22: Undefined control sequence. [\end{mcitethebibliography}]
./SI.bbl:22: Undefined control sequence. [\end{mcitethebibliography}]
./SI.bbl:22: Missing number, treated as zero. [\end{mcitethebibliography}]
./SI.bbl:22: Undefined control sequence. [\end{mcitethebibliography}]
./SI.bbl:22: Missing number, treated as zero. [\end{mcitethebibliography}]

This may happen, if (for whatever reason) you have cited no articles or none of the used citation keys is valid. In this case, you cannot compile your LaTeX document. So you have two options:

  1. Fix at least one citation key.
  2. Comment the \bibliography line out.
